Reporting to the construction manager, the site superintendent is responsible for the organization and management of construction work and related site activities.

The incumbent is responsible for safety, health and the environment in his sector. He championed health, safety and the “zero accident” culture. He makes these aspects known to the team and imposes their respect on them. He is proactive with entrepreneurs in promoting a safe and risk-free workspace.

The contractor is responsible for the management of all construction work and all personnel activities, in accordance with the procedures in force on the site and the instructions he receives from the construction manager.

He determines the personnel needs, and he coordinates the operational plans of the sector, the schedules and the works to be executed.

He leads and manages the team under his responsibility while providing consistent mentoring and “leadership” so that it works in accordance with the procedures, standards and requirements of the project.

The incumbent ensures that all construction work carried out is well planned, coordinated and prioritized, and that good use is made of available resources.


The incumbent provides proof of a great mastery of health, safety, environment and community issues during the construction phase of the project.

Knowledge of all phases of multidisciplinary construction projects relating to field activities of the various engineering specialties. Knowledge of construction technologies, site management and supervisory functions.

Strong leadership skills, ability to lead a team and grow within a team.

Established communication and negotiation skills.

The project manager assesses, plans, directs and monitors the work for all construction projects entrusted to him. More specifically, the person holding this job:

  • Assumes the execution of all stages of the life cycle of a project and sees to the
  • achievement of objectives in terms of costs, deadlines, scope, quality, customer
  • satisfaction, etc.
  • Evaluate opportunities
  • Determines needs
  • Establishes the overall project plan and develops the detailed planning
  • Control budgets
  • Achieves progress reports
  • Evaluates the risks, impacts, assumptions and limits to the proposed solutions
  • Rigorously manages risks
  • Efficiently manages the calendar

  • Faire la lecture de plans et devis
  • Réviser les spécifications techniques, effectuer les relevés de quantité ainsi que rapporter les coûts qui seront engendrés
    par le projet
  • Être capable de clarifier et de discuter de la portée des travaux avec les sous-traitants et fournisseurs
  • Être capable de faire l’estimation des coûts indirects pouvant survenir pendant le projet
  • Être capable d’évaluer des réajustements au cours des travaux
  • Démontrer une grande habileté à effectuer la gestion du processus de soumission
  • Préparer les analyses de risque ainsi que les contingences requises

  • Important – connaissance du BSDQ
  • Important – connaissance de SEAO
  • Important – Produire des estimation pour soumission et appel d’offre
  • Important – Préparer les prévisions budgétaires concernant les projets de construction



  • Essentielle – Diplôme collégial (DEC)
  • Essentielle – Maîtrise des langues française et anglaise parlées et écrites l
  • Important – 5 à 10 ans d’expérience en relation avec le poste
  • Essentielle –  Word, Excel, Microsoft Project,
  • Atout – connaissance Autocad, connaissance Smart Use
